About the Scholarship
As a local organization completely dependent on volunteers, the Education Foundation will award one $1000 scholarship to a deserving CISD senior who has dedicated significant time to volunteering and community service throughout their high school career. All scholarship money will be sent directly to the student’s chosen institution.
Who Should Apply
The applicant:
- Is a senior and lives within the boundaries of CISD and will graduate from CHS, New Tech High @ Coppell, Victory Place, or any other high school that CISD may have during the life of this scholarship;
- Has significant volunteer and community service experience throughout their high school career
- Has a minimum 2.0 GPA;
- Plans to attend an accredited four-year university, a community or junior college, or a state licensed trade or technical school;
- Will submit application by April 1. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered;
- Grants permission to CISD Education Foundation to have their name and photographs used to promote the scholarship in the future;
- Will claim their scholarship by December 15th of the calendar year they receive the scholarship.
What You Will Need to Apply:
- A completed grant application form;
- Two letters of recommendation from an employer, teacher, coach/leader of an extracurricular activity, or community member;
- An unofficial copy of your high school and other educational program transcripts.
The scholarship winner is announced in May.
